Key Idea: During a sales session you can sense how well, or not, your client is responding to the sales process. Adjustments let you make real-time adjustments to the overall value of the IPS Cart so you can close the sale. Adjustments can be an upcharge, a dollar discount, or a percent discount.
1. Adjustments are only accessible from the IPS Sessions Cart. Click the Adjustments button to make a change to the checkout value of the cart.
2. There are three types of Adjustments
- Upcharge.
Enter the description, the dollar amount and set the item to either taxable or not based on the sales tax laws for your municipality.
- Flat Rate Discount
Enter the description and the dollar amount of the discount.
- Percent Discount.
Enter the description and the percent discount. The percent discount applies to the total value of the Cart before the discount.
3. Adjustments are applied in the order they are entered.
Most adjustments will be a single adjustment to the total amount of the Cart. This example shows how system supports multiple adjustments.
In the example shown below, the Cart started at $1,050.00 before the post production charge of $100. After adding the post production charge the Cart was $1,150.00. The second adjustment was a referral bonus credit of $50, which brought the Cart charge down to $1,100.00. Finally, the 10% discount was applied to $1,100, which brings the checkout total to $990.00.
Finally, Adjustments will show on the customer receipt and the Order Details in your Admin Area.
