Key Idea: When you upload an image to an Event that has a duplicate filename, you will be presented with three options. You may skip, allow or replace the duplicate files detected. When you skip, the duplicate file is not uploaded. If you allow duplicates, both files will show in your gallery. If you choose to replace, the file with the duplicate filename will overwrite the file that is in the Event.
How to manage duplicate file uploads to an existing event.
1. Open your Event and go to Images
2. Select “Add Images” in the upper right corner of the Images tab
3. When duplicate filenames are detected, you will see these options
- Skip Duplicates: This option will ignore and not upload duplicate filename files.
- Allow Duplicates: This option will upload duplicate filename and retain all duplicate filenames uploaded to the event. This is helpful when you need the same filename in different Categories.
- Replace Duplicates: This option will overwrite the existing file with the last duplicate filename uploaded.
Tip: Use the Duplicate Filename option to reconcile an Event that has a different file count than your original folder. For example, if you have 805 images on your hard drive, but just 799 in the Event, upload the original 805 images and choose Skip Duplicates to upload the six missing files.
